Terms & Conditions

Effective 28 August 2026. Last updated 28 August 2026.

These Terms apply when you request an estimate, book work, or receive services from Superior Carpet and Ducts, and when you use our website. Please read them — they explain what you can expect from us and what we need from you.

Who we are

Superior Carpet and Ducts (“Superior,” “we,” “us,” “our”) is a family-owned cleaning company serving Oregon’s Willamette Valley since 1975. We provide air duct cleaning, dryer vent cleaning, carpet cleaning, area and fine rug cleaning, tile and grout cleaning, wood floor cleaning, furniture and upholstery cleaning, and commercial janitorial services.

We work from offices in Corvallis, Albany, Salem, Eugene and Portland, and serve the surrounding communities of the mid-Willamette Valley. Our air duct work follows NADCA standards, and our team is insured.

These Terms cover residential and small commercial work. Ongoing commercial janitorial accounts are governed by a separate written service agreement; where that agreement and these Terms differ, the written agreement controls.

Estimates and pricing

Prices we quote by phone, email or through our website are estimates based on the information you give us. They are not binding offers.

Before any work begins, our technician will walk the space with you and confirm the final price. Work starts only once you have approved that price.

If we find conditions that change the scope of the job — more square footage than described, additional vents or returns, heavy soiling, pet contamination, or furniture that has to be moved — we will stop, explain what changed, and get your approval before continuing. You are never charged for work you did not approve.

Minimum service charges apply to smaller jobs, and a trip charge may apply to addresses outside our standard service area. We will tell you about either before you book.

Scheduling, arrival and cancellation

We schedule by arrival window rather than an exact time, because job length varies with what we find on site. We will contact you if we are running outside your window.

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give us at least 24 hours’ notice. If our crew arrives and cannot get access to the property, or a job is cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, we may charge a $50 trip fee.

If we have to reschedule your appointment, we will contact you as early as we can and there is no charge to you.

Access to your property

So our crew can work safely and finish on time, please make sure that:

  • Someone aged 18 or over is present at the start of the job to walk the space and approve the price, unless you have arranged something different with us in advance;
  • There is reasonable parking near the property, and we have access to working water and electricity;
  • Pets are secured away from the work area, for their safety and our crew’s;
  • Breakables, electronics, valuables and small items have been cleared from the work area, and anything fragile has been taken off furniture we will be moving.

Our technicians will move ordinary furniture where it is safe to do so. We do not move pianos, large appliances, waterbeds, aquariums, pool tables, antiques, or electronics and their connections.

 Pre-existing conditions and what cleaning can achieve

Cleaning restores; it does not replace. Before we start, our technician will point out anything visible that may not respond to cleaning, and will tell you honestly what we expect to achieve. Please ask if anything is unclear — we would rather set expectations properly than disappoint you.

Conditions that may not improve with cleaning, and which are not defects in our work, include:

  • Permanent staining, dye loss, bleach spots, and pet urine damage that has reached the pad or subfloor;
  • Traffic-lane wear, matting, pile crush, and shading or pooling in the carpet pile;
  • Carpet delamination, seam separation, buckling, and pre-existing tears or burns;
  • Sun fading, and cellulosic browning in natural fibres such as wool, cotton and jute;
  • Grout that is permanently discoloured, cracked, or missing, and tile with worn or damaged glazing.

In duct and dryer vent work we may find damaged, disconnected, corroded or improperly installed ductwork, microbial growth, or materials that may contain asbestos. If we encounter asbestos or any condition we believe is unsafe, we will stop work immediately, tell you what we found, and recommend a qualified specialist. We are not licensed to remediate asbestos and we will not disturb it.

If a manufacturer’s warranty governs your flooring or upholstery and requires specific cleaning methods, please tell us before we begin. Meeting the requirements of that warranty is your responsibility, but we will follow the method you specify wherever we safely can.

Our satisfaction guarantee

We stand behind our work. If you are not satisfied, tell us within 7 days of the service and we will return and re-clean the affected area at no charge.

This is our first and preferred remedy, and we ask for the chance to put things right before any other claim is raised. Most concerns are resolved on a single return visit.

The guarantee covers the quality of our cleaning. It does not cover the pre-existing conditions described in Section 5, or re-soiling that happens after we have finished.

Damage and claims

Our team is insured, and we take responsibility for damage our crew causes.

If something is damaged during a service, please tell the crew before they leave where that is possible, and in any case within 7 days of the service. Prompt reporting lets us inspect the damage while the cause can still be determined, which protects both of us.

We are not responsible for:

  • Damage arising from the pre-existing conditions described in Section 5;
  • Items that were not disclosed to us, or not moved as described in Section 4;
  • Loose, worn or improperly installed fixtures, trim, registers, vents or fittings that come away during normal careful work;
  • Structural, plumbing or subfloor problems that cleaning reveals but did not cause.

Photographs of your property

Our technicians routinely photograph work areas before and after cleaning. These photographs document the condition of the space, support quality control and crew training, and protect both of us if a question about the work comes up later.

We will not publish a photograph of your home or business — on our website, in advertising, or on social media — without your permission. When you do give permission, we never publish your name or address alongside the image.

You may decline photography altogether, or ask us at any time to delete photographs of your property. Neither affects the service you receive. Our Privacy Policy explains this in more detail.

Payment

Payment is due when the work is completed, unless we have agreed otherwise in writing. We accept cash, check, and major credit and debit cards. Commercial accounts with approved terms are invoiced according to their service agreement.

Balances more than 30 days overdue may accrue interest at 1.5% per month. Returned checks and failed payments may incur a $35 fee. If an unpaid balance has to be referred for collection, you agree to pay reasonable collection costs and attorney fees to the extent Oregon law allows.

Text messages and phone calls

If you give us your phone number, we may contact you about your estimate, appointment and service — including by text message — because those messages are part of the service you asked us for.

We will only send you promotional or marketing texts if you have separately agreed to receive them. Agreeing to marketing messages is never a condition of booking or receiving service.

You can stop messages at any time by replying STOP, and get help by replying HELP. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies. Opting out of marketing messages does not affect appointment and service messages for work you have booked.

Your customer portal account

We offer a customer portal where you can view your appointments, estimates and invoices. Access is by a secure link sent to your email address, so there is no password to remember or lose.

Please keep the email address on your account current, and let us know if you believe someone else has gained access to your portal link.

 Using this website

Our content

The content of this website — text, images, video, logos and design — belongs to us or to our licensors. You are welcome to view it, print it for your own use, and share links to it. Please do not copy it for use in another business, scrape it, or present it as your own.

Reviews and anything you send us

If you post a review or send us photographs, comments or other content, you confirm it is yours to share, and you give us permission to publish it in connection with our business. We may remove content from our site at any time.

Information we publish

We publish cleaning guidance, recommended service intervals and safety information in good faith, and we keep it current where we can. It is general information about typical conditions — not advice about your particular home, and not a guarantee of any specific result. Where we cite outside sources such as NADCA, the EPA or the NFPA, we link to them so you can read the original.

Other websites

Our site links to third-party websites we do not control. We are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.

Language

We publish this website in English and Spanish. If the two versions differ, the English version governs.

 Limits on liability

Except where Oregon law does not permit it to be limited, our total liability arising from any service is limited to the amount you paid us for that service.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost income, lost profits, or loss of use of a property.

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute arising from these Terms or from our services will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Benton County, Oregon, and both of us consent to that venue.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version posted on this page at the time you book governs that job. We will update the effective date at the top whenever we make a change.
